When an entrepreneur looks at the possibility of opening a milliCare commercial floor cleaning franchise, he or she has big dreams. And milliCare matches those dreams with territories that provide tremendous opportunity for growth.
“We don’t create territories around a specific mileage or number of businesses, but rather design them around a particular square footage of rentable office space in the A and B commercial space categories,” explains Bill Helton, Director of Franchise Development. “That way, a milliCare franchise owner has a set number of targets when it comes to identifying potential clients.”
Competitors in the commercial floor cleaning franchise space often award territories based on a business census, or figures around the hospitality or retail sectors. That doesn’t work for milliCare, because it leaves out too many opportunities.
“We wanted to look at corporate offices, because that’s where a lot of our floor-cleaning work is done,” Helton says. “A lot of work comes our way through those other entities, as well as warehouse/office combinations and facilities like that, so we draw a wide circle to include as much as possible. That way, a franchise owner isn’t limited when he or she is working on a business plan for selling and marketing.”
Helton uses the word “generous” to describe a milliCare franchise territory, and he says that’s unlikely to change given how successful current owners are when it comes to landing and keeping business.
“We don’t like to carve up a major urban area, so we might just have one franchise owner in a larger city,” he says. “Their territory may range out into the suburbs. We think that’s important, because we want them to feel as though they have a lot of options for growth, that they don’t have to be hemmed in by a county line, or a ZIP code. Our franchise owners are a very talented and enthusiastic group, and so we want to create a field where they can really excel.”
